Our story

When Sarah, the owner of BlueBird, was little, her grandmother would always respond to good things in life with “you must have a little bluebird on your shoulder!” BlueBirds represent happiness, love, peace, prosperity, and renewal — all things Sarah knew she wanted her business to encapsulate.

The plants add an extra element of life and growth. The environment is ever-changing because the plants are always growing. Now they exemplify interconnectedness as they stretch across the salon. Clients comment on how fun it has been to see the plants grow from little buds to sprawling vines over the last five years.

Feels like home

We absolutely love our location! Sarah has personal connections with many other business owners in the plaza that go back a long time. Our neighbors are so lovely. BlueBird frequently partners with clients or other members of the community and local organizations through donations, hosting events like braiding classes, and most importantly, being a place where people feel take care of.

Behind the chair

Sarah Jones has enjoyed her 24+ year career nestled in or around the Cricket West area. She has been an educator for most of her career. She has a passion for creating and maintaining a community-friendly environment. She has built BlueBird to be the kind of space you can feel welcome and know that your overall experience is a priority.

If you can’t find Sarah behind her chair, she’s most likely watering her plants.
